10 Ways to Love Webster in June
June is here! We’ve got your lineup for all things happening in Webster County this month.
1. Jerry Run Summer Theater Presents Carpenter Ants & Special Guests Larry & Sandra Groce: Saturday, June 4th from 7-9PM
The Carpenter Ants are a rhythm and blues group based in Charleston, WV, who has been making great music together for nearly 25 years. They play what they describe as “chickenfried gospel soul with lots of feel good harmonies and a solid groove.” Members are Michael Lipton, Charlie Tee, Ted Harrison, and Jupie Little. Joining them on stage are special guests singer/songwriter Larry Groce and his wife Sandra. Larry is the long time host and artistic director of WV Public Radio’s popular Mountain Stage program.

2. Thirty One Bingo: Sunday, June 5th from 6-8pm
Who’s ready to shout BINGO? This is sure to be a fun event for all the gals in Webster County. The money collected for the game boards becomes the money used for gift prizes. Tickets are $20 for 15 games and refreshments will be available. The event will benefit Webster County Little League and be held at Webster County High School.
3. Baker-Addison Public Swimming Pool Opens!: Monday, June 6th
Located on Baker’s Island Recreation Area, the Baker-Addison Public Swimming Pool will open for the summer on June 6th. For pool passes and other information, please call 304-847-2994.
4. Camp Caesar Public Swimming Pool Opens!: Monday, June 6th from noon-5PM
Monday's thru Friday's enjoy swimming at the Camp Caesar swimming pool from noon to 5PM. Every Wednesday is $1 Day! For pool passes and party information, please call 304-226-3888.
5. Diana Eagles Community Center Flea Market, Craft Show & Open House: Saturday, June 11th from 9AM-2PM
We hope that you will come and see the renovations to the former Diana Elementary School – newly painted classrooms; rest rooms off of the gym; and basketball lines on the gym floor. Visit the new Diana Elementary School Memorial Room. You will love the changes. You will feel pride and will want to call it the Diana Eagles Community Center.We will have many items for sale at our Flea Market to raise monies for the Center. Other individuals will be selling their own flea market items. Some local crafters and product distributors will be selling their wares. The Diana School Reunion will also be held that day in the Center’s gym from noon to 4 p.m. Please bring a covered dish; old school memorabilia; and your memories to share with other school alumni.

6. Jerry Run Summer Theater Presents Rocky Road String Band: Saturday, June 11th from 7-9PM
The Rocky Road String Band is a Bluegrass band from nearby Buckhannon, West Virginia. The group is made up of Rob Hoover, Seth Hoover, Rad Lewis and friends.
7. Movies in the Park: June 11th, 18th, 25th beginning at dark
Bring a blanket or chairs and come enjoy a movie at Baker’s Island Recreation Area every Saturday evening throughout the summer. These features are free and open to the public, weather permitting.
8. Camden On Gauley Days: June 18-19th
Come enjoy live music, vendors, contests, bouncy house, dunking booth, face painting, gospel sing and more on Main Street in downtown Camden on Gauley.
9. Jerry Run Summer Theater Presents Rachel Burge & Blue Dawning: Saturday, June 18th from 7-9PM
Rachel Burge and Blue Dawning will satisfy anyone's yearning for true bluegrass, with their finely tuned blend of technical musicianship, ear-pleasing vocals, and a repertoire of both traditional and gospel tunes.

10. Jerry Run Summer Theater Presents Subject to Change: Saturday, June 25th from 7-9PM
Subject to Change might sound like a scheduling problem but, have no fear, this is not the case! S to C is a high energy bluegrass/bluegrass gospel band from Conway, SC with a familiar face on guitar and vocals. Our good friend Ken Scoggins, founder of Miller's Creek (a perennial JRST favorite), has joined forces with this hard-driving bluegrass band, and they are sure to please! Their set list comes from the tunes of Carter and Ralph Stanley, Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs, The Bluegrass Album Band, Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, J.D. Crowe & The New South, and The Johnson Mountain Boys.
